We will be having a recreation of a Freedom Seeker Wedding. For those unfamiliar with the term “Freedom Seeker” that is what Quakers use instead of the term “runaway slave.” Quaker Meetinghouses would marry a couple, a big step to being recognized as a human being, and then head off to Canada. As Harriet Tubman is recorded as saying “Quakers almost as good as the colored. They call themselves Friends and you can trust them every time.”
